SPLM PB to discuss referendum issues in Juba

JUBA (August 12, 2009) – The Sudan Peoples' Liberation Movement (SPLM) is to convene a two-day Political Bureau Meeting in Juba on Friday to discuss issues pertaining to the 2011 Referendum.

The meeting, chaired by SPLM leader Comrade Salva Kiir, is also expected to be briefed about recent negotiations with the National Congress Party (NCP) on post-referendum issues.

Other issues that rank high on the SPLM Policy Framework are also expected to be discussed.

According to press statement inviting all media houses and issued by the SPLM Secretary for Information at the Southern Sector, the Secretary-General will hold a press conference on Wednesday at Home&Away Business Center, the venue of the event.

The Political Bureau comprising of 27 members recently lost one of its members, comrade Dr. Samson Kwaje, GOSS minister for Agriculture and Forestry. This meeting will be the first such meeting since he passed away in Nairobi on August 1st 2010.
