SPLM concludes contractual agreement on leadership training programs
MA Programs in Transformational Leadership and Change for SPLM leaders and cadres.
JUBA (Jul 26) – The Sudan Peoples’ Liberation Movement (SPLM) Tuesday finalized a contract with South Sudan Management Institute(SSMI) offering Masters of Arts Programs in Transformational Leadership and Change to SPLM leaders and cadres.
The first program started in May 2011 and is expected to last 15 months offering intensive module type sessions and well as projects and assignments closely related to student’s occupational responsibilities.
Cde. Dr. Henry Wani Rondyang, SPLM Secretary for Research and Planning, signed the contract in Juba on behalf of the SPLM.
Around 27 students are already attending the program, among them Cde. James Wani Igga SPLM Deputy Chairperson of the SPLM and Speaker of the SSLA; Cde. Pagan Amum, SPLM Secretary General; Cde. Deng Alor, Minister of Regional Cooperation; and Cde. Clement Wani Konga, Governor of Central Equatoria State.
One of the aims of the program, according to the organizers, is to "develop skills in identifying leadership issues, problem-solving, decision-making, conflict-resolution and change-strategy in applying the transformational concepts in an organizational setting".
The program is held in collaboration with the International Leadership Institute (ILI) of the University of Greenwich, UK London.
