Sudan continued on May 5 to mourn the tragic deaths in an air crash of several top SPLM and SPLA officials, a day after the bodies of six of the victims were flown to Juba, capital of South Sudan, on board two U.N. helicopters.

SPLM Chairman Salva Kiir joined hundreds of officials, relatives and friends at Juba airport in receiving the remains of SPLA Affairs Minister Dominic Dim Deng, Presidential Advisor Justin Yac, and of four other victims.

The SPLM Deputy Secretary General for the Southern Sector has said the SPLM fought for the recognition of the rights of the marginalized people of Sudan and to ensure that they all prosper in a country that respects and promotes the principles of democracy.
